Principal
Hello César Chávez Middle School Community,
I am excited and honored to be the principal at César Chávez Middle School. I was a 7th grade Math and Science teacher here for seven years before I left the classroom to be a PBIS Coach and administrator.
I have been in education for 25 years, 20 of them in the Hayward Unified School District. I began my career in Hayward teaching 6th grade at Harder Elementary. My heart has always been with this community and my inspiration has always been with middle schoolers. Middle school is such an important time in a child’s life, where they are beginning to figure themselves out, finding out who they are and creating new friendships and forming their values and beliefs on their own. I am so happy to be a part of it.
César Chávez Middle School is a part of the journey our students take as they continue on with their education to find joy in making a contribution in this world. Their journey may take them through college or another career path but I believe our staff are here to prepare them for any path they decide to choose. I believe that students need to be ready both academically and socio-emotionally as they navigate through life and we at César Chávez Middle School, will help support them so they can meet any of life’s challenges.
With the collaboration of students, families and staff, the possibilities are limitless. A student’s short time in middle school will always leave an indelible mark and I want students to remember César Chávez Middle School as a place where they had fun, made new friends, had amazing teachers, learned a lot and and grew in confidence in academics and in life.
I look forward to having a wonderful school year!
